Do you remember? The 21st night of September? That's the date McCarthy and Kenny scheduled their amazing William Vale wedding. And I played "September" by Earth Wind and Fire at least three times to celebrate.

Venue

The William Vale is a five-star hotel that opened in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in the fall of 2016. You can have your wedding ceremony on their roof and then choose between their ballroom or the Vale Terrace for your reception.

The William Vale is very popular. On weekends there is a line outside all day long to go up to Westlight, the rooftop bar. There is also a pool on the other side of the fourth floor from the Vale Terrace. It feels exclusive and fun.

Ceremony

The rooftop is an amazing place to have a wedding ceremony. There are unobstructed views of the New York Skyline. It is walled in by glass. In your photos it looks like you are standing in the sky. I have never seen anything like it.

McCarthy's brother Dustin officiated the wedding. It was his first time and he did a great job. For their wedding party, they chose "Sweet Disposition" by The Temper Trap as the song to play while they walked in. McCarthy walked in to the acoustic version of Disclosure's "Latch." For their recessional song, they chose "Midnight City" by M83.

Cocktail Hour and Dinner

Cocktail hour was also on the roof. After the ceremony guests just turned around to enjoy drinks and hor d'oeuvres. I played a Spotify playlist they sent to me which began with "This Must Be the Place" by the Talking Heads. An hour later, everyone hopped on the elevator and headed down to dinner. McCarthy and Kenny chose the Vale Terrace to have their reception at. It is located on the fourth floor.

We started off dinner with introductions. They chose "September" to be played while everyone walked in. They had a large wedding party, which I announced couple by couple. McCarthy and Kenny were the last to come in. They began their first dance once their guests stopped cheering and applauding.

For their first dance, McCarthy and Kenny chose "Into the Mystic" by Van Morrison. During dinner we had four toasts. They all used my wireless mic and sounded great. During dinner I played a mix of indie music and sing along rock songs. Whole tables were singing along to a few songs.

Next up we had parent dances. McCarthy danced to Sinatra's "The Way You Look Tonight" with both her stepfather and her dad. Kenny and his mom danced to "You've Got a Friend" by James Taylor. Afterward, they cut the cake and I opened up the dance floor.

Dance Set

For their dance music, McCarthy and Kenny chose a mix of classic songs, hip-hop and EDM. We started off with disco and 80's tracks which packed the dance floor from the first song. Then we moved into a few 90's rock songs. By the end of the night we had the entire dance floor jumping up and down. One of their guests did the worm. It was a really fun party.

Ben was everything we wanted in a DJ. He was professional and very helpful throughout the whole process leading up to our wedding. Ben provided ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception music for us and killed it! We received so many compliments on how great our music was throughout our wedding night. I would definitely recommend Ben to our family and friends! - McCarthy
